We designed this piece so that the four-color process images (such as the compass detail on the right inside page and the world map on the cover) could be printed in the PMS colors we were using in the rest of the book. Cyan became PMS green; magenta became metallic bronze; yellow became a PMS golden yellow and black remained black. This allowed us great control over the printing without additional passes through the press.
